The location of Water's Edge makes it ideal for a country vacation. This spacious, modern home is situated on a property bounded by the Kootenay Lake, Tam-o-Shanter Creek, and natural forest lands.
The park-like grounds, fruit trees, gardens, and magnificent natural backdrop
provide an ideal setting for outdoor living whether you want to dine alfresco,
meditate, paint, or just relax while watching the changing moods and colours
of the mountains and lake.
A paradise for bird watchers and photographers, the area is rich in wildlife:
osprey, eagles, a variety of ducks with their chicks, otters and deer are common
sights. The lake is on the migratory path of many birds, so what you see will
depend on when you visit.
For more active pastimes, a private, pebbly beach is just steps from your door with a gazebo, campfire facilities, and 30-foot dock. Kootenay Lake is cool, clean, and noted for fishing, swimming, boating, all water sports. For the golfer, Riondel offers a nine hole, executive course and 20 minutes away is world class Kokanee Springs golf resort. Nearby are miles of forestry roads for hiking or exploring on ATVs, mountain bikes, or in winter, snowmobiles and cross-country skis. Both the creek and the lake offer excellent, year round fishing - we cannot say enough about the fishing: Kokanee, Dolly Vardon, Gerrard Rainbow, and brook trout are all worth catching for the sport and the gourmet meal.

Although
secluded, Water's Edge is not isolated; it is a delightful base for exploring
the Kootenays. Pebble Beach Provincial Park - a beautiful beach for picnicking
or camping - is just minutes to the north. Riondel is a 5 minute drive south,
where you'll find Bob's Bar and Grill with good food, Riondel Market with post
office and liquor agency to meet most needs, and the boat club, which will
allow use of their boat launch for a small fee.
The artisans' strip in Crawford
Bay lies a further 15 minutes south where weavers, blacksmiths, glass blowers,
broom makers, potters and other artists and craftsmen provide a unique shopping
experience. Exploring the lake by boat is great fun or take the world's longest
free ferry ride to soak in Ainsworth hot springs, soak up the 1890s atmosphere
of Kaslo, or shop in the distinctive stores of picturesque Nelson. Wherever
you go, the scenery is magnificent and people are friendly. The house is newly
finished with ample parking; has 2 self-contained, apartments, both with decks
and arresting views of the lake, modern and relaxed:
